I was checking our reservation spreadsheet this morning and hot damn, it looks like we’re already 75% sold out of our 85 hogs for the season! This is the biggest compliment we could ever hope to receive — the piggos aren’t even here yet but the vast majority of our whole and half pastured hogs have been snapped up by our previous customers. If you’ve got questions about the who/what/why/when, we’ve got answers!
If you already know you’d like pork this fall, now is definitely the time to give us a holler! Pro tip: sharing a whole hog with friends (like our pals Abby and Pieter do each year!) saves you money and is pretty dang fun. ;)
If you’ve already reserved your pork, THANK YOU SO MUCH! The sooner we sell out, the more time I can spend focusing on how to pamper the piggos.
In other farm news, our 50 laying hens arrived last Monday! Each spring we pick up “spent hens” — hens that are still healthy and laying well but at a slightly reduced rate — from a farm that sells eggs to Organic Valley. They’re getting used to their coop and pretty soon they’ll start enjoying pasture life!
Up next, cleaning out the piggo barn, getting goats trained to their NoFence collars, and much more. Hope you’re enjoying the bliss that is spring!!
xo,
Dayna
P.S. You can still sign up for our July 29th Half Hog Breakdown Demo! All the details here.
How cool!
